The Captain Nathaniel Mills chapter of NSDAR (National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution) recently recognized four students and one teacher from HEB ISD. The chapter's DAR Good Citizen Awards were given to Fabiha Mobin of Trinity High School and Jarrett Fuller of L.D. Bell High School, based on their timed essay responses to a prompt: "Of our American rights and freedoms, which one would you choose to celebrate and why?" Benjamin Yerigan and Taelor Romero (both of L.D. Bell High School) were the winner and the 1st runner up in the chapter's Christopher Columbus essay contest.

Mr. Eric Oglesby, a teacher at L.D. Bell High School, was recognized as the NSDAR's 2nd place winner for Most Outstanding American History Teacher for the state of Texas. This honor places Oglesby in the top ranks of teachers nominated by all of the more than 150 NSDAR chapters in Texas.
