The students and their directors were recognized at the April 25, 2016 board meeting. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive. This competitive selection process begins at a regional level, with individual musicians performing selected music for a panel of judges. Selected musicians advance to area competitions, where the highest-ranking musicians qualify to perform in a TMEA All-State music group.
The All-State students participate in three days of rehearsals directed by nationally recognized conductors during the annual state TMEA Clinic/Convention. Their performances in front of thousands of attendees bring the annual convention to a close.
