In keeping with tradition, festivities filled the pre-game and half-time agendas at this year's matchup of the L.D. Bell and Trinity varsity football teams.
Before the game, the Optimist Club and Superintendent Steve Chapman honored an outstanding student from each HEB ISD school. The national anthem was performed by the combined A Cappella choirs from both high schools.
During half time, fans were then treated to performances by the Trinity and L.D. Bell bands and a special combined performance of the Trinity TroyAnns and the L.D. Bell Raiderettes.
Before play resumed for the second half, 6 Stones announced the winners of the Black and Blue food drive: River Trails Elementary, Hurst Junior High, and L.D. Bell High School, with the Blue team winning the overall competition. Altogether, we collected more than 66,500 food items district-wide -- the total weight of the food was an increase of nearly 10,000 pounds over last year!
At the end of the night, the Trinity Trojans were victorious with a final score of 56-7.
