Before the game, the Optimist Club and Superintendent Steve Chapman honored an outstanding student from each HEB ISD school. Representatives from Chik-fil-A participated throughout the evening and were thanked for setting aside $1000 total for two scholarships for L.D. Bell High School seniors. The national anthem was performed by the combined A Cappella choirs from both high schools.

During a special ceremony at half time, the Pennington Field press box was dedicated as the Nelson R. Moore Press Box. Nelson Moore devoted 52 years to working in education and earned a legacy as an ambassador in the HEB ISD community. In addition to serving for 14 years on the Bedford City Council and helping to found the HEB Sports Hall of Fame, he opened Pennington Field as stadium director in 1987 and directed its events until his passing in August of 2015.

Fans were then treated to performances by the Trinity and L.D. Bell bands and a special combined performance of the Trinity TroyAnns and the L.D. Bell Raiderettes.

Before play resumed for the second half, 6 Stones announced the winners of the Black and Blue food drive: Donna Park Elementary, Bedford Junior High, and KEYS High School, with the Blue team winning the overall competition. Altogether, we smashed through the goal of 55,000 items and collected more than 72,000 food items district-wide!

The football game itself started with Bell's Raiders out to an early lead. At the end of the night, the Trinity Trojans were victorious with a final score of 56-17.
