Michael W. Young, announced Monday as a winner of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, is a 1967 graduate of L.D. Bell High School. Young and two peers were honored for their discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling circadian rhythm. After graduating from L.D. Bell High School, he continued his studies at the University of Texas at Austin and Stanford University School of Medicine. Young joined his current institution, Rockefeller University, in 1978.
